I have trying and testing The Ordinary products for awhile now, and I absolutely love it.

Why? 

Its simple formulations, free of fragrance, alcohol, silicone, and all the other things that can be troublesome to sensitive skin types.

If you're not a skincare junkie, The Ordinary product descriptions might seem a little intimidating, they use clinical terms that don't exactly tell you what it targets. Below are some of my top picks and some insights on what they've done for my skin.

Alpha Arbutin 2%

I've gone through a entire bottle of this in about 1 month using only at night after cleansing and toning. 

This can you used in place of a serum before you finish off with your nightly moisturizer, it does a great job lightening any hyper-pigmentation, sun spots and old acne scars.

Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 

Hyaluronic acid is a classic moisturizing ingredient, this one works wonders if you don't like creams as your daily moisturizer and prefer something more light weight, this absorbs super quickly and its great before applying makeup in the morning. B5 helps bring radiance back into your skin, so the two ingredients together is a dream. I would recommend for any guys to try this product out as well. 

Niacinamide 10% Zinc 1% & Salicylic Acid 2%

The last two I want to recommend are the best options I found for acne prone skin. These can get drying so I do not recommend using on the daily. I use the Salicylic Acid to spot treat the breakouts and Niacin-amide all over the face (avoiding the eye area) as needed.

Serum Foundation & Cover Foundation

Serum Foundation as per the name of the product gives a more dewy finish to the skin while cover foundation provides more coverage. However I found that the cover foundation is not heavy at all compared to the Estee Lauder Double wear. Both are very light weight and super blendable. I think its best applied using your fingers rather then brushes for the most natural look. There are lots of shade options and I would give these a 4 out of 5. Mostly because it is not the most long wearing. However it didn't cause any breakouts for me or clog any pores, I like how it is unscented and you simple can't beat the price tag.
